Abstract

We report a case of symmetrical peripheral gangrene in a 22-day-old female associated with disseminated intravascular coagulation, which probably occured from septicemia of Enterobacter aerogenes. The skin lesions showed well-defined blackish
gangrene
surrounded by purpuric patches on the whole fingertips and toss except the left thumb. Histopathologically, there were epidermal necrosis, diffuse extravasation of RBCs, mild perivascular inflammatory infiltrates and dilated and RBC-filled
vessels
in
the dermis. But there was no definite evidence of vasculitis.(Kor J Dermatol 1994 ; 32(1) : 158~162)
